Phulbani: A gang of armed dacoits robbed Rs 3 lakh, gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of a businessman at Gudri village of Tikabali in Kandhamal district Saturday night.
The owner of the house, Kempa Sahu lodged a complaint with Tikabali police Sunday.
As per the complaint, at least seven masked robbers armed with sharp weapons barged into his house, terrorised the family members, tied them with ropes before locking them in a room.
Then they broke open the chest and looted the cash and gold ornaments weighing around 300 grams. Later, they fled from the spot.
The family members shouted aloud for help following which the neighbours released them from captivity.
