Rs 50,000 stolen from ‘Mo Bus’ passenger in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: An amount of Rs 50,000 was stolen Tuesday from a ‘Mo Bus’ passenger travelling on Route number-18 from Jagatpur in Cuttack to Baramunda in Bhubaneswar, a source said.

The victim, identified as Rajkishore Jena, was travelling with his family members on the bus. He came to know that the money in his pocket was thieved at a stoppage near Trisulia, the source informed.

An FIR in this regard has been lodged by the victim at the nearest police station.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

It can be mentioned here that in a similar incident in December last year, a ‘Mo Bus’ passenger lost Rs 42,000 cash to a thief.

Incidents of money and mobile phone theft are on the rise in Mo Bus vehicles run by the state government, the source added.
