RSC observes World Nature Conservation Day in City

Bhubaneswar: Regional Science Centre (RSC), a unit of the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, observed World Nature Conservation Day at its campus here, Sunday. RSC, in association with Aaina, a non-profit organisation, held a two-day workshop to spread the message of nature conservation and encourage individual participation. A programme ‘Best out of Waste’ including craft activities was held for students with hearing loss from BBC School for the Deaf.

The students enthusiastically participated in activities and showed their creativity using different art forms. During the workshop, nature lovers, including students and their parents along with a group of marine professionals from SeaFarer’s Association of Odisha carried out a plantation drive and distributed saplings. Project coordinator at RSC Kapil Jain highlighted the importance of the day in spreading awareness and educating individuals and communities about the importance of protecting nature.

Notably, World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated annually to raise awareness about the urgent need for conservation and encourage individual efforts to preserve the planet’s natural resources. This day also reflects human relationship with nature and provides an opportunity to take steps toward a sustainable future.
