Bhubaneswar: A special screening of the movie ‘Sabas Biju’, written, directed and produced by Santosh Panda which was held at Soochna Bhawan here Sunday drew huge crowd.
The two-hour-long universally acclaimed children movie is based on child rights and stars 11-year-old Snehal Sujal Mohanty and nine-year-old Subhangi Panda, both residents of Bhubaneswar.
The character of Biju, played Snehal, is an 11-year-old son of a widow, who helps his ailing mother to earn a livelihood for the family. In school he comes to know that his name is synonymous with the late former chief minister of the state Biju Patnaik. Accordingly, the kid attempts to solve child-related social issues prevalent in the village and finally gets rewarded.
Attending the screening, MSME Minister Prafulla Samal said, “Every child must learn how to gather the courage and develop patience of the late former CM Biju Patnaik.”
MP Prasanna Kumar Patasani said, “Indubitably the greatness of Biju babu is ineffable, however, it’s heartening to see Panda’s flick where he has given his best and done justice to our dearest Biju babu.”
It may be mentioned here that the movie actors along with Santosh Panda were feted by Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here Saturday.
Moreover, all the child artistes of the movie were honoured at Soochna Bhawan before the screening.
