Bhubaneswar: A state-level safety conclave was organised here Friday by Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS), Bhubaneswar and Institute of Public Enterprises, Hyderabad in association with state Labour and ESI department and Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA).
The theme of the conclave is ‘Smart Safety Economic Sustainability’. On the occasion, Debabrat Panigrahi of IQEMS opined that a smarter approach to Industrial Safety can increase productivity and enhance safety and economic sustainability. Smart safety can use the same concept as smart manufacturing industry such as seamless connectivity and real time analytics and extend them to industrial safety efforts. “This will not only help better monitoring and managing safety performance but also transport operations in systematic manner,” he added.
On the occasion, Kalinga Safety excellence award was given to the winners of best practices and competitive excellence in the field of safety and health to different industries, mining and construction sectors.
