Cuttack, April 13: Riding on an all-round performance by Rakesh Patnaik, Saheed Sporting registered a thumping 142 run victory over Union Sporting to enter the semifinals of the Pradipta Memorial Inter-club cricket tournament at the SCB Ground here Monday.
Rakesh (131) hit a scintillating century as Saheed Sporting scored a challenging total of 275 runs in the stipulated 40 overs after opting to bat first. Rashmi Ranjan Parida (52) supported Rakesh well with a brilliant fifty.
In reply, Union Sporting could manage only 133 in 31 overs, with Rakesh and Swayna Singh sharing six wickets among themselves.
