Jakarta: Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal defeated He Bingjiao of China in a hard-fought encounter to enter the women’s singles final at the Indonesia Masters badminton tournament here Saturday.
Saina had to fight hard before overturning an early deficit to win 18-21, 21-12, 21-18 in a tough 58-minute battle. However, after losing a tight first game, the Indian player came back strongly to win the second and third and seal her spot in the summit clash round. Earlier in the preceding tournament, the Malaysian Masters, Saind had lost in the semifinals.
The third game was a tight affair though with leads changing hand at regular intervals. However, showing superior court craft, Saina edged out Bingjiao in a pulsating encounter.
