Bhadrak: Salandi river in Bhadrak is in spate as floodwaters entered four wards of Bhadrak municipality Tuesday.
Over 20 villages in ward Nos 12, 26, 17, 28 and 29 were affected by the flood. Village streets are already under water. People living in Hajarinagar, Purunabazar, Elakha, Jagannathpur, Mahila Mahavidyalay Road, Pirasahi, Gandhi balashram are marooned.
A bearch of 5ft by 15 ft was created near Gobindapur, but floodwaters gushed through it.
Following incessant rain in the region, 3500 cusec water was released from Hadagada dam. Bishnupur and Annapal were worst affected by flood.
According to information available from district emergency control room, water level in Salandi flowed at 14.9 metres against the danger mark at 15.8 metres near Rajghat Tuesday.
