Sambalpur BJP MP Nitesh Ganga Deb narrowly escapes in road mishap

Sambalpur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentarian from Sambalpur constituency segment Nitesh Ganga Deb narrowly escaped in a road mishap late Thursday night after his car collided with a truck on national highway (NH-49) near Kurada village under Deogarh police limits in this district.

According to local witnesses, the MP was returning from Sambalpur to Deogarh when the mishap took place. Ganga Deb’s car faced some minor damages and the MP escaped the near fatal accident by the skin of his teeth.

On being informed, Deogarh police immediately reached the spot. Police detained the truck driver and launched a probe in this connection.

Notably, Ganga Deb was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 general elections. He is also known as the erstwhile ruler of Bamanda province (undivided Sambalpur district). Earlier, he was the MLA of Deogarh Assembly constituency till 2019.
