Sanctum Sanctorum inspected as Holy Trinity set to return to Ratna Singhasan

Puri: Ahead of the Trinity’s return to the Ratna Singhasan after ‘Neeladri Bije’ ritual, members of the Archaeological Survey of India Monday inspected the Garbhagriha (Sanctum Sanctorum) in Puri

Srimandir during which chemical cleaning, checking of the steel crosses and colouring of the ‘Kanakamundi’ have been carried out.

After inspection, several steps were taken. The ventilating system inside the Sanctum Santorum have been improved, a machine has been

installed at the Jagamohan for circulation of cold air and another machine installed to balance the loading of the portal box frame, sources said.

This apart, the black patches inside the Sanctum Santorum have been removed. The repairing work of the roof next to the kitchen and Bhogamandap has been done, informed the officials.

“Three steel beams have been installed at Jay Vijay Dwar. We have also completed filing work of the Dwar. Next, repair work of the Natamandap

and Ratnabhandar will be carried out,” Orissa High court-appointed amicus curiae engineer N K Mohanty informed.
