Satabhaya rehab committee for inclusion of 235 left out families

Kendrapara: The Satabhaya Rehabilitation Committee (SRC) has demanded the inclusion of 235 left-out families in the Satabhaya Rehabilitation Colony at Bagapatia village under Rajnagar tehsil in this district. In a memorandum to the District Collector, the SRC members demanded land and other benefits be provided to the left-out families on par with what 571 families were getting. The SRC also submitted a list of 235 families, who are yet to be resettled at Bagapatia–Satabhaya Resettlement Colony, to the District Collector. The state government has resettled as many as 571 sea erosion-prone Satabhaya families at Bagapati-based Satabahaya Resettlement Colony.

Six months back, the district administration also included 148 left-out families of Satabhaya and 99 families of Charigharia in Satabhaya Rehabilitation Colony. Still, 235 more left-out families are waiting to be included in the Satabhaya rehabilitation project for resettlement. Rajnagar MLA Dhruba Sahu, Satabhaya sarpanch Prasanna Kumar Parida, and the members of SRC met the District Collector at Kendrapada and demanded to include the left out 235 families in the Bagapatia Resettlement Colony project. The MLA also demanded before the Collector to initiate steps for completing the developmental and beautification projects of Satabhaya, on a war footing. The state government has provided Rs 23 crore for the purpose. During the discussion, District Collector Amrit Ruturaj said Rajnagar tehsildar would be asked to carry out a survey for including the left-out families in the rehabilitation project.
