New Delhi: A Supreme Court Collegium has remitted the candidature of advocate Kali Prasanna Mishra as a judge of Orissa High Court.
The Collegium comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice AK Sikri and Justice SA Bobde has remitted the proposal to Orissa High Court after detailed consideration.
“For purpose of assessing merit and suitability of Shri Kali Prasanna Mishra, Advocate, for elevation to the High Court, we have carefully scrutinized the material on record including the observations made by the Department of Justice in the file. Having regard for all relevant factors, the Collegium is of the considered view that the above proposal deserves to be remitted to the Orissa High Court. The Collegium resolves to recommend accordingly,” said a statement.
Notably, Advocate Mishra was recommended for elevation to the Orissa High Court May 5 last year, and the same was deferred by the Supreme Court Collegium October 31.
