Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court Wednesday deferred its hearing on the reforms at Puri Srimandir after the amicus curiae Gopal Subramanium sought four weeks’ time to submit the report.
Subramanium is scheduled to visit the 12th-century shrine during the second week of this month.
On the other hand, the three-member committee constituted by the state government to study the mechanism in other important shrines submitted its report to the apex court Tuesday.
The committee had visited Tirupati, Akshardham and other major shrines in the country and interacted with the authorities. The panel suggested separate queues for darshan for differently-abled, women and senior citizens.
