MV-79: Girls of Saraswati Sishu Mandir under MV-79 in Malkangiri district tied rakshis to the hands of jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF).
The small girls purchased various rakshis of their choice from the nearby market and visited BSF camp to tie rakshis to the hands of jawans taking them as their brothers and seeking protection from Maoists.
Most of the jawans are deprived of the opportunity of being tied rakshis as they stay far away from homes, the children said. Notably, both the Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan were observed on the same day this year.
The schoolgirls also prayed for long life of jawans who guard our nation day and night under adverse conditions. They also sent rakshis to BSF soldiers who are deployed on borders.
