Sun is the source of energy for the whole universe and in Vedic astrology this star is considered as the significator of health, eyes, social prestige, father and profession. In India, there is a tradition of giving ‘aragh’ or water to the rising sun. We all know that it is done to strenghten this particular star in our horoscope. But do you know the logic and scientific reason behind it? Do you know the right way of doing this proceduce?
Logic:
When the spectrum of sun rays refract through the water, it breaks down into seven colours. The energy emanating from these rays of different colours is absorbed by the body, and balances any dosha in the body. As a result we automatically gain ‘water therapy of sun rays.’ On the health front, this improves eye-sight and mind power.
Correct way to offer ‘aragh’
Ideal time to offer water to Sun is within one hour of sunrise. Take a bath and wear clean clothes before doing it. If you can’t do that, at least wash your legs, arms and face. Fill a copper vessel with water, adding either sugar or honey to it.
Go outside where you can see the Sun. In case the sky is cloudy, do this procedure by facing towards the East direction, assuming the Sun is there.
Now straighten your hands and start pouring the water slowly. While you do that, it is important to look at the sun rays through the stream of water coming from the vessel. (If you don’t look at the Sun while offering water, it won’t be any beneficial. And there is a reason for it).
