Berhampur: A two-member team of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) met 14-year-old student of Daringbadi Sevashram School in Kandhamal district who is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here Tuesday.
Commission chairperson Sandhyabati Pradhan and member Dibya Saswati Rao met the survivor at the gynaecology and obstetrics department and enquired about the details of the incident.
The chairperson said efforts were being made to make her feel comfortable after the trauma. The condition of her health has improved while she has expressed her desire to sit the annual examination after her recovery.
Kandhmal district child protection officer (DCPO) Rashmita Karan and Ganjam DCPO Subodh Sarangi are attending to her. Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre official Geetanjali Panda of Baliguda sub-divisional hospital and counsellor Rashmita Kampa are regularly counselling the girl. The state government will bear all medical expenses of the survivor, she added.
