Secretariat gets upgraded version of OSWAS

Bhubaneswar: An upgraded version of Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System (OSWAS) has been put on soft-launch in an attempt to smoothen the online file work at the Secretariat.

Chief Secretary A P Padhi undertook a review on technical, safety and security aspects of the software at a meeting held here Thursday. Padhi directed all the departments to use the system and put forth necessary feedback for further customisation of the software.

The software will be put under soft-launch up to August 14, 2018 so that the users get adequate time to familiarise themselves with the new system.

The IT department was asked to organise training sessions for all users in phases taking not more than 25 officers in one batch. It was targeted to make the new system go-live in September, 2018 after necessary customisation, an official said.

IT special secretary Rudra Narayan Pallai said the updated version is having in-built Odia plug-in for noting and drafting. It is mobile and cloud ready with web responsive design.

The system also has robust disaster recovery links with Odisha Computer Application Centre, State Data Centre and National Data Centre. It is having features like 24×7 secure accesses, digital signature, online publishing of notices & circulars, SMS & email notification and real time executive dash board, Pallai said.
