Bhubaneswar: Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a 60-year-old journalist on charge of molesting a woman who was on board the Durg-Puri Intercity express here Tuesday. The sexagenarian scribe hails from Bolangir and was working at an English daily in Nayapalli here. According to the complaint, the victim along with her eight relatives had boarded the Durg-Puri Intercity express at Khariar Road railway station and the accused was also in the same compartment. Finding the lady asleep near Redhakhol station the journalist allegedly touched her private parts. The lady woke up and called her family members. Upon reaching Bhubaneswar railway station, the lady registered a complaint with GRP following which the accused was arrested and a case (106/18) under sections 354 and 354(A) of the IPC was registered. The accused was sent to judicial custody for seven days by the court.
The victim’s husband tweeted the incident and tagged the East Coast Railway.
