Serial killer, aides held in Ganjam

Aska: Acting on reliable information, Aska police arrested a contract killer, Alok Pradhan, in connection with the murder of two persons and an attempt to murder case here in Ganjam district. Police also arrested his accomplices Kanhu Charan Sahoo of Humuki village and Susant Kumar Nayak of Binchana village under Gangpur police limits.

 

According to sources, Pradhan was allegedly involved in the murder of Hatia Jena of Humuki village under Aska police limits and Subhas Sahoo of Badagada village in Dharakote police limits of Ganjam district. The accused was also wanted in an attempt to murder of former Inspector in-Charge (IIC) of Aska police station, Baleswar Gidhi, informed sources.

 

SDPO Suryamani Pradhan and Aska IIC Santosh Kumar Jena revealed before media that police seized a motorcycle, a pistol, two live bullets and an empty magazine from his possession. The three were forwarded to court and later remanded in judicial custody.

“Alok Pradhan was wanted in three cases. Acting on a tip-off, Aska police arrested him and he has confessed to all his crimes during interrogation. We suspect his involvement in more crimes and a further probe is on to nab his associates,” SDPO, Suryamani Pradhan said.
