Konark: The servitors of Maa Mangala temple at Kakatpur in Puri district have stopped cooperating with hundreds of devotees from Monday morning. They were protesting against the arrest of their fellow servitors.
Though the daily rituals of the deity are being conducted, the devotees have to return without offering ‘puja’. The shops on the shrine premises were closed as part of the protest.
A family from Balighat area in Puri visited the shrine Sunday. During their stay inside the temple premises, some servitors allegedly heckled the family members and misbehaved with the women.
Acting on the complaint, the police arrested three servitors and produced them in a court.
