Rourkela: Four persons, including two senior citizens, were arrested by the Jhirpani police for allegedly running a sex racket at a house in Rourkela’s Jagada area, Tuesday.
Five women, who were forced into flesh trade by the accused, were rescued during the raid at house number JG/210 in Jagada, IIC Jhirpani police station, Pradeep Nayak said. Nayak said, acting on reliable information, police raided the house along with two witnesses.
They found five women, aged between 25-30 years, in disrobed condition. They were immediately rescued. A search of the house resulted in the recovery of some cash and other incriminating materials.
During questioning, the victims allegedly disclosed that they were forced into prostitution by the owner of the house, Upendra Biswal, 75, his wife Jyosna Biswal, 66, and their son Umesh Biswal, 36. They were soon taken into custody along with a customer whose name was withheld.
The IIC said the accused have been booked under Sections 3,4,5, and 7 of the ITP Act of 1956. They will be produced before a court Wednesday for remand.
