Shatrughan Sinha joins Congress, to contest from Patna Sahib

New Delhi: Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha joined the Congress in the presence of its senior leaders at the party headquarters here, Saturday. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal welcomed Sinha into the party fold and termed him the ‘best politician who was earlier with the wrong party’.

Sinha has been nominated to contest from Bihar’s Patna Sahib seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He got elected from the same constituency in 2014 on a BJP ticket. This time however, he will take on BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad in the constituency.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, AICC in-charge for party’s Bihar unit Shaktisinh Gohil welcomed Sinha into the party.

Immediately after joining  Sinha popularly known as ‘Shotgun’ during his acting days stated that the BJP has become one-man show and two-men army. He also stated that he will always speak the truth irrespective of which party he belongs to. “If speaking the truth is rebellion, then I am a rebel,” Sinha said.

Sinha also pointed out that the BJP doesn’t value its own people and considers opponents as enemies. Hence it is no use in working for such a party where democracy has slowly and surely turned into dictatorship.

“Rahul Gandhi is a dynamic leader. He’s the face of the nation and its future. That is why I have joined the Congress,” Sinha said.
