Mumbai: Actress Rhea Chakraborty is currently lodged in Mumbai’s Byculla Jail after her arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the alleged drug link with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

It is reported that Rhea used a phone registered in her mother’s name to connect with drug peddlers. The phone was confiscated by the NCB a few days ago from Rhea’s house.

According to reports, a laptop and a mobile phone were recovered by NCB from Rhea ‘s house. Their investigation revealed that Rhea was active on certain WhatsApp groups. It is being said that these groups talked about drugs.

During interrogation, ED had seized Rhea’s phone in which the conversation related to drugs was revealed. Subsequently, in the raids, the NCB recovered another mobile from Rhea’s house.

On the other hand, the NCB has also detained Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty’s school friend Suryadeep Malhotra for questioning, officials said Monday.

Sources revealed that he was taken by the NCB from his home in Mumbai. This is the 15th arrest in the case so far by the NCB.

Sushant was found dead in his Bandra home flat June 14 — triggering a huge political row, an upheaval in B-town and simultaneous investigations by the NCB, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and even the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The NCB arrested Rhea September 8, her brother Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda September 4, and his personal staff Dipesh Sawant among several others in the last few days.

The NCB Sunday also arrested six more people in connection with the case, including those who supplied drugs to the late actor through his girlfriend Rhea’s brother Showik and others. The six drug peddlers arrested Sunday were identified as Karanjeet Singh Anand, Dwayne Fernandes, Sanket Patel, Ankush Anreja, Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari.
