Siblings held for duping youth of lakhs for rly job

Jharsuguda: Police have nabbed three siblings from Jharsuguda for duping a youth of Rs14 lakh on promises of getting him a job in the Indian Railways, Monday.

As per sources, the trio had allegedly duped one Manas Ranjan Patel of Chichinda village in Brajarajnagar on promises of offering him employment in the Indian Railways.

The arrested have been identified as Jharana Badi (32), Rajesh Badi (30) and Rajkumari Badi (19). An amount of Rs 12.96 lakh has been seized from their home while a car, one laptop, three mobile phones and other incriminating articles have been recovered from the possession of the accused persons, Jharsuguda SP Bikash Das said.

Patel had given Rs 14 lakh to the siblings at a hotel in Jharsuguda, October 17. However, they remained incommunicado after getting the money, Patel,’ complaint read.

The accused have been booked in a fraud case and remanded in judicial custody.
