Siddaramaiah’s dhoti falls off during his speech in Karnataka assembly

Karnataka: In an unusual turn of events, the ‘dhoti’ of Former CM and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah fell off while he was giving speech in the Karnataka Assembly. The video of the incident has been now going viral on social media platforms.

The hilarious incident has surfaced on social media. Former CM and Leader of Opposition, Siddaramaiah was giving a speech in the Karnataka assembly when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, state Congress president DK Shivakumar interrupted him and whispered in his ear that his panche (dhoti) was about to fall down.

Siddaramaiah then said, “Oh, is that so?” and while sitting, announced to the entire house that he would continue his speech after tying up his dhoti.

Siddaramaiah was thoroughly engrossed in debating the functioning of the police force following the Myusuru gangrape case when the incident happened.

Madhu Bangarappa, who was in the Chair said, “It’s tricky if you yourself disclose what the issue is.”

While tightening his dhoti, Siddaramaiah said he gained 4-5 kgs post Covid-19 recovery and that is when his belly size increased leading to his panche starting to fall.

Addressing RDPR Minister KS Eshwarappa, he said, “My panche has come off, Eshwarappa. Of late, my paunch has increased and my ‘panche’ keeps coming off.”

But when somebody from the treasury bench offered to help, Siddaramaiah responded by saying, “Since you are sitting on the other side, I will not ask you for help.”

Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar said, “Our president DK Shivakumar whispered in Siddaramaiah’s ear to save his and party’s image. But Siddaramaiah announced it to the entire House. Now, people from BJP will be waiting to dent our image.’

To which Siddaramaiah responded, “They can try but they (BJP) cannot do anything to our image.”
