Hyderabad: Actor Prakash Raj has not only made a distinct identity in the Telugu film industry but has also made a name for himself in Hindi cinema through acting.
Prakash has played negative roles in most of his Hindi films like Wanted and Singham. Apart from his professional life he was also in the headlines for his personal life. There were many ups and downs in his life but he never gave up and always kept moving forward.

The actor’s real name is Prakash Rai. Prakash began his television career with Doordarshan serials such as Bisilu Kudure (Kannada) and Guddada Bhootha (Tulu and Kannada). He changed his name at the behest of K. Balachander. In 1994, he made his debut in Tamil cinema.

He has participated in more than two thousand plays. He got recognition in the Hindi film industry in Salman Khan’s film Wanted. Later, he worked in films like Singham, Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap and Heropanti.
Prakash who acted in back-to-back stage shows for Rs 300 a month in the initial stages of his career is a recipient of several accolades, including five National Film Awards, six Nandi Awards, eight Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards South, four SIIMA Awards, three CineMAA Awards, and three Vijay Awards.

But Prakash has also been in the headlines many times due to his behavior and bold statements. Due to this, the Telugu film industry has banned him six times.
Prakash married actress Lalitha Kumari in 1994. They had two daughters, Meghana and Pooja, and a son, Sidhu who died in 2004. The couple divorced in 2009.
Later, he married choreographer Pony Verma 24 August 2010. They have a son, Vedhanth born in 2015.
