Single Window clearance to 7 projects worth Rs 1036 cr

Bhubaneswar:  State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Tuesday gave in-principle approval to seven investment proposals worth Rs 1,036.39 crore in the state.

The proposed investments would be made in food processing, plastic, tourism, logistics and metal sectors, said a notification issued by the government. Chief Secretary Padhi has asked the departments concerned to make a realistic assessment of land and water required for these industrial units.

According to the notification, a proposal by Supreme Industries Ltd for setting up a manufacturing unit in Khurda district for the production of plastic pipes, PVC water tanks and ancillary products with an investment of Rs 151.30 crore have been approved. This would create job opportunities for 320 persons. Similarly, a proposal of Mayfair Hotels and Resort Ltd to set up a convention centre with a capacity of 4,000 in Bhubaneswar was approved. This centre, planned to be built with an investment of Rs 300 crore will create employment potential for 850 people.

Besides, a proposal of Bhagirathi Packaging Pvt Ltd to set up polypropylene (PP) woven bags production unit in Bhadrak district with an investment of Rs 60.29 crore has also been approved. This project is estimated to create 500 jobs.

These apart, the SLSWCA also cleared the proposal for two food processing units. Thailand-based Inteqc Feed Co Ltd for setting up a shrimp feed manufacturing unit in Khurda with an investment of Rs 107.88 crore with employment potential of 205 persons and Explore Food Pvt Ltd for manufacturing a ready-to-eat snacks unit in Khurda with an investment of Rs 51.40 crore.

Among other proposals, a project of Chalah Infratech to set up a logistics park in Khurda entailing an investment of Rs 99.80 crore with possible job opportunities for 234 persons, and KAI International’s iron ore beneficiation and pellet plant in Sundargarh district with an investment of Rs 265.72 crore leading to employment potential for 475 people were also approved.
