Khallikote: Development will take place if BJP comes to power at the Centre and in Odisha, said Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State for Railways while attending an election meeting at Bikrampur panchayat under Khallikote Assembly seat Monday.
There is need for having a ‘double engine’ government at the state as well as the Centre, Sinha said, adding under the BJP government no one will have to leave the state to work as migrant labourer.
There will be employment opportunities in villages and the country will be protected, the minister said, adding ‘goondaraj’ and proliferation of liquor will stop when the BJP government will come to power. He requested the electorate to vote for BJP candidate Bharati Behera from Khallikote Assembly segment
BJP Mahila Morcha leader and actor Anu Choudhury said there is need for change in the regime in the state which will bring an end to slavery. BJP leader Anil Kumar Panda, Mihir Parida, Bikrampur sarpanch Mamata Pradhan attended the meet while many BJD leaders like former Khallikote NAC chairman Shankar Prasad Nahak, Santosh Goud, Dillip Patnaik, MP nominee Manoj Sahu joined the saffron party in the presence of Sinha.
Sinha and Choudhury also attended an election meeting at Dusshera ground in Kotpad of Koraput district and campaigned for the party candidates.
