SIT to bring Pari death case accused to village for demo; seeks cooperation from villagers

Nayagarh: One day after confirming an arrest in connection with the much-talked about Pari death case, a two-member SIT team visited Jadupur village Monday.

Pari, the five-year-old girl, was the daughter of Ashok Sahoo and Soudamini Sahoo, residents of Jadupur village under Sadar police limits in Nayagarh district.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating into Pari death case had Sunday confirmed that it has arrested the accused.

However, the SIT has not made the identity of the accused arrested public. But the accused is also from the same village the deceased minor girl’s from.

While the villagers had been expecting that the SIT team would bring the accused to the village in its next visit, the two-member team came to the village without bringing the accused with them.

A woman inspector first went to Saroj’s house and had a discussion with her. Then she talked with the village president Jaykrushna Parida.

Quoting SIT, Parida said that the SIT will bring the accused to the village for a demo. But it fears it may give rise to a law and order situation in the village. It has sought cooperation from the villagers. The SIT will reveal the identity of the accused and the proofs confirming his involvement by December 24.
