Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a six-day-old daughter had his right leg chopped off by her own mother over superstitious beliefs at Sundardev village under this district in Madhya Pradesh, reports said.
According to sources, the woman delivered the baby six days back. However, the baby was born with six fingers each in both legs and hands. Believing it to be unlucky, the woman chopped off one each finger of both the legs and hands of the baby in the absence of the family members.
Soon after the baby died due to excess bleeding. Suspecting foul play, locals alerted the police after which the woman was arrested and confessed to the heinous crime.
There have been a lot of superstitious beliefs occurring in the region and has become a matter of concern.
