Six detained in Berhampur bomb hurling case

Berhampur: A day after the bomb hurling incident, Berhampur police deatined six persons Monday based on the CCTV footage from the spot.

Five persons were injured after some miscreants hurled bombs at the car they were travelling in near Lanjipalli area here Sunday morning.

The injured persons were admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Among the injured, two persons — Sushant Bisoi and Prabhat Patra — were in critical condition. The other injured were Rajesh Bisoyi, Gobind Nayak and car driver Gopi.

The incident took place when Bisoi was going to the police station with his friends at 8:30 am. In what is believed to be a case of previous enmity, some miscreants came on a bike and hurled bombs at the car.

According to reports, Sushant Bisoi and his aides were arrested in a murder case of Chicken Rabi in 2010.
