Sixteen MPs from Odisha take oath in Lok Sabha

Pro tem Speaker Virendra Kumar administered the oath to Modi and other parliamentarians.

New Delhi: As many as 16 MPs from Odisha including Union Minister of State and Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Balasore Pratap Chandra Sarangi Monday took oath as the members of the 17th Lok Sabha.
Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and MP from Cuttack Bhartruhari Mahtab also took oath as the member of 17th Lok Sabha.
While Sarangi took oath in Sanskrit, Bhartruhari took oath in Odia language.
BJD MP from Keonjhar Chandrani Murmu, Bhadrak MP Manjulata Mandal, Jajpur MP Sarmishtha Sethi, Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahu, Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi , Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta, Jagatsinghpur MP Rajashree Mallick, Puri MP Pinaki Mishra, Aska MP Pramila Bisoyi and Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu also took oath as the member of 17th Lok Sabha. All BJD MPs took oath in Odia. Similary, BJP MP and former Union Minister Jual Oram, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi also took oath in Odia.
The only Congress MP from Odisha Saptagiri Ulaka, who has been elected from Koraput seat took oath as member of the Lok Sabha in English.
Significantly, four BJP MPs, namely Suresh Pujari, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Bishweswar Tudu, Nitesh Ganga Deb and BJD MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty will take oath Tuesday.
