Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) would fix the prices of Mahaprasad and take steps to improve infrastructure at Anand Bazar on Srimandir premises soon after the completion of Kartik rituals.
A decision to this effect was taken at a recent meeting of the SJTA here. The meeting chaired by SJTA chief administrator PK Mohapatra decided to construct sheds for sale of Mahaprasad at Anand Bazar after Kartik Brata.
The meeting also deliberated on timely supply of Mahaprasad to Habishyalis staying at shelter houses provided by the government. The SJTA asked the Suar and Mahasuar servitors to supply Mahaprasad to Habishyalis soon after the completion of first Bhog Mandap ritual.
The temple administration also asked officials to keep the North Gate of Srimandir open till 9.30 pm for hassle-free transport of Mahaprasad to shelter houses for Habishyalis. The temple authorities usually close the North Gate by 6 pm.
The district administration has also directed its officials to arrange motor vehicles for quick transport of Mahaprasad from Srimandir to Habishyali shelter houses. At present, the temple delicacies are being transported on trolley-rickshaws.
Notably, the temple administration has allowed the elderly women observing Kartik Brata to enter Srimandir and exit the shrine through its four gates.
“The queue system for devotees has been relaxed for the Kartik Brata. Devotees can enter Srimandir through the Lions’ Gate and exit through the other three gates till completion of the Kartik rituals,” said an official of SJTA.
