Dhenkanal: Police Tuesday recovered the skeletal remains of a youth who had gone missing for the past four months at Ambapalasa village under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district.

The deceased was identified as Bijay Kada of Malajharana Sahi in Barakata village.

Preliminary probe revealed Kada was working at Talcher as a truck helper. Anonymously, he went missing four months back.

Family members said, Kada had come home to take Rs 11,000 for getting a driving license. Since then, he never returned home. Police had registered a missing persons’ complaint and were on the lookout for him.

Later, some villagers spotted the skeletal remains and alerted the police after which the seizure was made. The police have recovered 28 pieces of skeleton, a wallet, Rs 400 in cash and clothes from the spot.

Acting on a complaint by the deceased’s brother Rout Kada, police registered a case at Parjang police station and a further probe was launched. Police suspected, he was killed over the money or some previous enmity while no exact reason was ascertained.
