Skill camp in City boosts morale of PwD trainees

Bhubaneswar: At the closing ceremony-cum-valedictory function organised by the National Career Service Centre for the Differently-Abled (NCSCDA), Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, DGE, Bhubaneswar, trainees said that skill development training has not only given them technical knowledge but also taught them the art of cooperation.
Minati Behera, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (SCPD), complimented the free residential skill development training programme for PwDs (Persons with Disabilities) organised by NCSCDA-Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the state government. Mentioning the RPwD Act 2016, she said Odisha is ahead of all other states in empowering people.
Ashok Kumar Behera, General Manager (P&A), Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) said that skill development training has provided not only domain based technical skills but the trainees learnt life skills like communication skills, grooming, confidence, self reliance etc. The society, bankers and industry should provide them opportunities, he added.
Toolkits were distributed to 27 successful trainees for maintenance of personal electronic devices and electrician trades by the Paradip Port Trust.
Ram Kishor Sharma, Assistant Director (Employment), National Career Service Centre for the Differently Abled, extended his best wishes to the trainees, and said that trainees who use the tool kit properly will be provided assistance for growth.
Minati Behera was the chief guest and Ashok Kumar Behera, OAS (S), General Manager (P&A), Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Ltd was the guest of honour at the function. The function was presided over by Ram Kishor Sharma.
