Bhopal/Bhubaneswar: With an aim to provide a platform for disseminating and promulgating ideas for various smart cities, a maiden Apex Conference of Smart City CEOs was held at Bhopal Wednesday.
The two-day conference beginning May 8, 2018, would enable the CEOs to learn from experiences of all veteran city policy makers. The list of invitees includes Principal Secretaries (UD)/State Mission Directors, Municipal Commissioners, Ambassadors of several countries, UN representatives, Heads of multilateral/bilateral agencies, civil societies, and capacity building institutes.
Attending the conference, Additional Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Subham Saxena gave a presentation on implementation of the Smart Janpath, Social Equity Centre and Mural Project (STAMP) of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL). It is worth mentioning here that the Social Equity Centre was one of the unique projects in urban governance and was widely appreciated at the event.
Notably, the Smart Cities Mission (SCM), since its launch June 25, 2015, has been one of the most transformational urban missions with a pragmatic approach. Key projects such as digitally integrated smart city centres, street redesigning, and installation of solar rooftop on buildings; among others have been the subjects of its discourse.
