Puri: The headmistress and two assistant teachers of Puri Zilla School will lose a day’s salary for not following BSE pattern in conducting examinations and being absent from the school without applications.
According to a source, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash Saturday paid a surprise visit to Puri Zilla School and was surprised to find the headmistress and two assistant teachers absent without applications.
He immediately directed for the salary cut. He has also issued a show cause notice to the headmistress.
Before leaving the school, he interacted with the students.
Later, while speaking to media persons, the Minister said that the question pattern of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) examinations has been changed. In order to make the students acquainted with the question pattern, the schools must complete the BSE pattern exams by the end of March this year.
“I have been visiting schools to see if the remaining courses after the 30 per cent slash have completed or not. So far, I have found 90 percent of the slashed course has been completed and the remaining 10 per cent is expected to be covered by the end of March,” he added.
