Bantala: Over the years dialogues of superstar Shah Rukh Khan have been used to woo girls, but his dialogue has also made a significant impact on many working class people.
Giria Sahu, a snacks trader of Bantala in Angul district, believes in the dialogue, ‘Koi Bhi Dhanda Chota Nahin Hota Aur Dhandhe se Bada Koi Dharam Nahin Hota’ from Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees.
Sahu is inspired by this dialogue and follows it in his life. Sahu’s story is both awe-inspiring and heart-wrenching as well.
Born to a BPL background family, Sahu was the fourth child among eight siblings. Being poor, his father could not afford his higher studies following which he started helping his father in odd jobs.
Later, the father and son duo decided to start a small snacks cart near Bantala range office. Now, with time, the snacks cart attracts a huge number of customers. With his good nature and behavior, Sahu has managed to make a good customer base.
More than 200 people come to taste his snacks every day. His Idli and ‘bara’ are the tastiest. He also prepares ‘Puri’ and ‘Alu chop’ that are everyone’s favourite. Sahu is happy with his small business and makes decent money.
He has constructed a house for his family and has married off his elder daughter Madhusmita (25). Now, his son also helps him in the cart apart from his studies.
Elaborating on his career choice, Sahu said, “My father started the snacks cart. I learnt the craft from him while helping him. I have mastered in making tasty snacks on my own. Customers like me for my food.”
Speaking further on his achievements and satisfaction derived from his work, he shares, “I have worked hard and I own a shop now. I am my own boss and that leaves me happy and content. My work is my worship.”
