SOA’s 32 researchers in Stanford Univ’s top 2% list

Bhubaneswar: As many as 32 researchers of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here have been named in the list of world’s top two per cent scientists for 2024 by the prestigious Stanford University of USA. The university had 22 of its scientists in Stanford’s 2023 list of which 20 have found place in the latest list.

The SOA list includes 14 researchers drawn from different disciplines of engineering who are working in the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), SOA’s faculty of engineering and technology, while 11 have been picked from six of the 19 research centers set up by the university. Five of the scientists are from the Centre for Nano Sciences and Nano Technology (CNSNT) while two are from the Bio-fuels and Bioprocessing Research Centre. One researcher each has been chosen from the Center for Industrial Biotechnology Research (CIBR), Multi-Disciplinary Research Cell (MDRC), Centre for Internet of Things (CIOT) and Center of Excellence in Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences (CETMS).

Among the researchers named in the list are Pradipta Kumar Dash, Director of the Multi-Disciplinary Research Cell, and Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, eminent neurosurgeon, both of whom are former Vice-Chancellors of the university. The list includes Kulamani Parida, Director of CNSNT, Lala Behari Sukla, Director of Bio-fuels Bioprocessing Research Centre, Hrudaynath Thatoi, Director of Centre for Industrial Biotechnology Research and Sanghamitra Nayak, Director of Centre for Biotechnology
