Believe it or not, there’s a Sonia Gandhi Temple in Telangana state built by her admirers.
To express his gratitude towards the Congress leaders built a temple where they worship Sonia’s idol.
In 2014, when a new state of Telangana was created by the intervention of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Congress leaders across the district did the unthinkable – they constructed a temple dedicated to her in Mallial, a town in Telangana.
The sentiment behind the temple was to express gratitude for creating a new state. The leaders sourced a white marble sculpture of Sonia Gandhi and installed it inside the temple. They even installed the portraits of the whole Gandhi clan comprising former PM Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on the outer walls of the temple.
The bust-sized statue of Congress president was brought from Rajasthan to Karimnagar in Mallial town by the leaders of the party.
The 9-feet statute has Mrs. Gandhi posing an Indian goddess, holding a lotus in one hand and a plate full of wealth in another.
