‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is one of the most popular and longest running shows on Indian television. The show’s characters, revered by millions, have become household names over the years.
One such character, called Sonu, has been missing from the show for quite some time as the actor who previously essayed her role, left the show to pursue other interests.
But it looks like the hunt for the new Sonu is finally over with actress Palak Siddhwani reportedly been finalised to play the role.
According to reports, the showrunners had shortlisted Palak and Jinal Jain to play Sonu and now have identified the former to become a part of the cast.
Palak is a newcomer to the television industry but has experience doing advertisements. She has however worked in drama as she was also a part of a webseries starring Ronit Roy and Tisca chopra. Reports suggest that shooting for ‘TMKOC’ has already begun and Palak would be making her debut by next week,
The role of Sonu was earlier played by Nidhi Bhanushali who herself replaced Jheel Mehta as Sonu in 2012. Both the actresses left the show abruptly.
“I haven’t got any confirmation from the makers. I did a mock shoot day before yesterday and I am waiting for the revert,” said Palak when asked about the show.
