Bhubaneswar: The Southwest monsoon has further advanced to several parts of Odisha covering about 24 of the 30 districts in the state, IMD sources here said.
It further said the conditions are now favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon to some more parts of Odisha in the next 3-4 days.
The IMD predicted that light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in most places over the districts of Odisha.
Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kandhamal and heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Khurda, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, and Ganjam.
Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar Director Manorama Mohanty said Odisha is likely to experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 21 and 22 and fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may also occur in the state during the next 5 days.
