Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India has decided to hold a two-day special campaign February 23 and 24 for the enrolment of voters whose names do not feature in the electoral list.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, has asked the district Collectors to organise the special campaign for enrolment of left out electorates, sources said here Thursday.
The campaign will be held at all the polling booths across the state. The booth-level officers will be present at the polling stations to explain various issues related to the electoral process.
The CEO has asked the different departments of the state government to ensure the availability of assured minimum facilities at all the polling stations by February 28. As usual, schools will be used as polling stations and the School & Mass Education department has been instructed to complete the necessary arrangements on time.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that the Election Commission will make announcement for the general elections and Odisha Assembly polls in first week of March.
