Bhubaneswar, July 15: After her recent success in a couple of international and national events, Orissa sprinter Srabani Nanda paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Secretariat here Wednesday.
She demonstrated her five medals including three international bronze and two national gold medals to the Chief Minister congratulated Srabani for her success and wished her good luck for Rio Olympics.
After visiting the Chief Minister, Srabani told reporters that athletic event is not easy where one will participate and get the medals. “Lot of practice, dedication, and determination, potential and maximum patience is required to taste success in this event. This year, I got my best timing of 23.54 seconds in the 200 metres event and got the bronze medal in the 21st Asian Athletic Championship at Wuhan, China,” stated Srabani upon her
arrival here.
“I am improving my time day by day. I am also training abroad which is helping me a lot. In South Africa and Australia I gathered a lot of experience,” she stated here. “The most important thing was that I got the opportunity to practice with top class athletes there. I am having one year to put my best to qualify for the Rio Olympics. I am determined to put in a lot of hard work to achieve my target.”
