Sri Mandir servitors to boycott CM’s meeting on Rath Yatra

Puri: The servitors of Lord Jagannath at Sri Mandir called for a boycott of Rath Yatra coordination meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to protest against a series of false allegations against them.

The Shree Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani through a poster asked the servitors not to attend the Rath Yatra coordination meeting this year for the district collector’s anti-servitor tendency on issues including Niladri Bije and disrespect to the first lady at Lord Jagannath temple in Puri.

“All the self-esteemed servitors are asked to boycott the Ratha Jatra coordination meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister as part of the protest against a series of false allegations and anti-servitor community tendency by the district collector,” the servitors’ body said in the poster.

Notably, the servitors appeared to be unhappy with the district collector over the recent allegation involving President’s visit.

Press Secretary to the President rubbished the allegation of misconduct during the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind and his wife Savita Kovind to Jagannath Temple in Puri in March this year.
