State anti-tobacco activist in Limca Book of Records

Bhubaneswar: Anti-tobacco activist Md. Imran Ali has been featured in Limca Book of Records for his awareness campaigns aired on community radios across the country.

Son of Md. Golam Qutbani and late Amirun Nisha, Imran hails from Qazi Sahi in Bhadrak. His awareness talk on ‘Tobacco-free childhood’ was aired on 54 community radio stations of 19 states on World No Tobacco Day, 2018. The talk covered the topics like harmful impacts of tobacco, learning the pre-cancer lessons and the process of giving up tobacco.

Imran mentioned about the tobacco-free schools by citing anti-tobacco legislation COTPA, 2003 which prohibits the sale of tobacco to and by minors and makes the provision of making tobacco-free educational institutions.
