Bhubaneswar: Ahead of maiden Make in Odisha (MIO) conclave, the High-Level Land Allotment Committee headed by Chief Secretary AP Padhi Monday approved proposal for allotment of land to 38 investment projects in various sectors.
The government has allotted around 71 acres in favour of 38 industrial units in industrial estates of Khurda, Chhatabar, Analapatna, Deras, Mancheswar, Rasulgarh, Andharua, Janala and Bhagabanpur.
These units are in different sectors like vegetable and oil refinery, instant pasta, vermicelli and sweet potato, boat manufacturing, launches, barges tugs, chemical tanks, machine conveners, seeds processing, garments and street lighting mounting equipment manufacturing, packaged drinking water, stores for agricultural and food products, ice plant, automobile, medicine production, sanitary napkins, etc.
Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) Chief Managing Director (CMD) Sanjay Singh, who made the presentation on the investment proposals, said that these projects would bring in investment to the tune of Rs 508.19 crore with employment potential of 4,479 persons.
While giving nod to the proposals for land allotment, Padhi directed concern official to ensure that all land allotted is utilised for industrial purposes for which they have been allotted, an official said.
The Chief Secretary further advised the industry department officials to ask the investors for recruit people from Odisha, especially in the sectors like food processing, apparel making and manufacturing.
Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Environment) Suresh Chandra Mohapatra advised the officials to ensure proper disposal of wastes generated by the manufacturing and automobile servicing units.
