State reconstitutes task force for National Education Policy

Bhubaneswar: The state government Thursday reconstituted the task force for proper implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, official sources said. According to the School and Mass Education (S&ME) department, the 13-member task force will be headed by the Development Commissioner.

Principal Secretaries of S&ME, ST and SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare, PR and DW, Finance, W&CD, Skill Development and TE, Sports and Youth Services departments are among the members of the task force. “Further, six thematic subcommittees have been reconstituted to deal with different components of NEP, 2020 with representatives from other departments and directorates functioning under the S&ME department, and experts in the field of education as special invitees,” according to a notification issued by the S&ME department. “The chairperson may invite other experts/relevant persons to participate in any particular meeting of the committee/sub-committee for discussion in any specific issues on the smooth implementation of NEP, 2020,” it added.

Notably, the state government had in October 2020 formed a task force and six sub-committees to study the NEP, 2020 and submit its recommendations to the Centre.
