Bhubaneswar: The state government Thursday directed the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to fill 500 vacancies in the posts of assistant section officers (ASOs) in the state Secretariat.
The state government has already recruited 483 new doctors while instruction has been issued to OPSC to recruit 500 ASOs soon, sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said here. The recruitment process of ASOs will be carried out for 2018 and the ASOs will be appointed in various departments of the state government.
In an effort to address the shortage of doctors and improve healthcare services, the newly-recruited doctors will be placed in remote and rural areas in the state, the CMO sources said.
