BHUBANESWAR: There is an increasing popularity of a good physique and sound health among fitness lovers. These interests are manifested not only in morning walks in the city streets but also in the emphasis on a healthy diet. The right choice of drinks is essential for the overall health of an individual.

After a heavy exercising ordeal, drinking fruit juices from stalls near these fitness parks is a trend which is slowly picking up.

Nutritious drinks like pudina, carrot, neem juices among others are a natural way of staying fit. The juices are beneficial in combating several diseases like diabetes, gastric, skin problems, cough, cold, high and low blood pressure among others.

Bhabesh Behera, a homemade juice seller at IG Park, said, “I prepare a variety of juices and health drinks every day. My fruits and vegetables are always fresh. I collect those early in the morning and start my services at around 5:30 am. I prioritise cleanliness while preparing the juices. I even use a water purifier to keep my drinks free of germs.”

Raju Biswal, a regular customer of Behera, said, “The juices that he prepares are fresh, hygienic and highly beneficial for health. It is my daily routine to have healthy drinks after my workout.”

“Behera is helping people to stay fit. I am always completely refreshed after having his juice,” said a jogger Rahul Thripathy.

Prafull Kumar Muduli, another juice seller, is also very much popular among the fitness freaks of Forest park. He provides Ayurvedic drinks to his customers. He claimed that the fruit juices he makes would help people steer clear of diseases. “I prepare nine types of juices which are helpful in combating diabetes, eight types of juice for gastric problems, four types of juice for fat loss and High blood pressure, three types of juice to cure cough, cold and joint pain, two types of juice to increase stamina and five types of juices for skin related problems.”

“I am in offering health drinks to people from the last seventeen years. I was inspired by my father who was an Ayurvedic doctor. I learned the art of juice making from my father. I have completed a Medicine Transcription course. The course has whetted my talent in serving health drinks to people. Currently, I am serving juices in plastic glasses. However, I will use stainless steel glasses from October 2.”

“He has a sound knowledge on Ayurveda. His juices are appreciated by people of different ages. He always wears gloves while providing his services. The juices act as medicines and helps us to combat various ailments,” said a customer Raghuram Sahoo.

“After my morning walk, I come here to have a glass of herbal juice. My diabetes is completely under control now due to regular consumption of these drinks,” said another customer Shyam Sundar Dhal.
